My youngest plays Legion ball in the summer, so I don’t always make it online by the KLA’s usual 9pm raid start time. As often happens, I log on late to my bank alt, give my greetings, and Grimguld, our Guild and Raid leader, says:

Grimguld: OC!!

Grimguld: We need you!!

<bank alt>: switching brb

After logging Oilcan, switching specs from PvP, making sure I have the right pet out, checking consumables and ammo, and getting on Vent, I take the summons.

<methinks>: Cool, Loatheb! <looks forward to soaking in a nice warm crit bath>

I think the group had wiped once; we were less then 25, so I know no one left to make room for me. I check my buffs (3 pally, mage, druid, DK, priest, flask, food)…good, all there, toss an MD on Grimguld and awaaayy we go!

Three minutes and change later:

A hair shy of 6k !

After some oohhs and aahhs, I start getting a couple whispers from a hunter and folks with hunter 80 alts. So, for my next post, I’ll deal with some basic SV damage-dealing and how to tweak what you do so you do what you do better than you did.

Postscript: The next morning I logged and realized that OC still had his Enraged Feral Staff (with +85 AP) equipped, having forgotten to swap it out for my Wraith Spear (with +110 AP), which would have certainly bumped me to +6000, officially.
